How did farmers live in the past? How did the old machines, rarely seen on Bavarian Forest farms these days, actually work?
These questions and many other are answered in the Lower Bavarian Agricultural Museum in the Schulgasse. Exhibits go back to the 18th century. The museum is well known in the region and brings many guests to Regen every year. At its opening, the Regen agricultural museum was the first in Bavaria. Even today it is still the only museum in Lower Bavaria specializing in agriculture. But the museum is more than that: on over 2,000 m2, one can learn a great deal about the past as well as experience a bit of history. Moving models, acoustic effects, theatrical elements, films or agricultural equipment which the visitor can start by pressing a button, give the whole family an exciting trip through the past. There is also a cultural programme with high quality concerts and cabarets in the tractor hall.
The museum is open daily from 10.00 to 17.00.
