Most locals get on skis at a very early age. And the passion for skiing and especially for the cross country variety is no accident: there are countless well prepared trails in the region to inspire the discovery of Bavarian Forest nature up close.

The famous cross country trails at Zwieselerwaldhaus or Bretterschachten are very close to Regen and can be reached by car in just a few minutes. And in the town itself and villages around it, holidaymakers and locals can slip on their cross country skis: there are well prepared pistes in the Regen area in Schöneck, March and Schweinhütt, for example.

Fitness, speed and accuracy can be tested by biathletes at the nearby Hohenzollern Stadium.
