Pscheidl Krippe Regen Weihnachtsausstellung Bayerischer Wald

The crib, which can be seen every 2 years in Regen during advent, in the Lower Bavarian Agricultural Museum, is unique: for just a few weeks, the crib, which is known well beyond the borders of the town, is set up for exhibition.

Each of the 270 figures is unique and was carefully created by hand. The crib is something special. It includes not only animals and figures from the bible, but also writers from the Bavarian Forest and well known people from the region, including politicians.

Most of the crib figures were modeled by sculptor Maria Pscheidl-Krystek on famous people in the Bavarian Forest and honoured guests in Regen. Franz Josef Strauß, for example, sat for her as well as the poet Siegfried von Vegesack, the Regen priest, mayors, councillors, heads of associations, head teachers or walking guides and many others. Many visitors have been amazed at the likenesses of the 20 cm high figures.
